Timothy E. Houchin
Associate Attorney
Timothy E. Houchin, a specialist in small and large business transactions, management and civil litigation, joined Brune Law Firm in June 2007 and has since established a wide-ranging practice dealing in business law (including the cannabis industry and regulations), family law, mediation, estate planning, and guardianship matters.
Prior to joining Brune Law Firm, Mr. Houchin worked as a solo practitioner and as a staff attorney with The University of Tulsa Legal Clinic, where he handled cases and supervised many students in the school's Health Law Project. In addition to his duties at the Brune Law Firm, Mr. Houchin currently serves as an Adjunct Professor with the University of Tulsa Law School and has taught all of the civil externship courses since 2013. Over the years he has been asked to teach other Law School courses on Interviewing, Counseling, Negotiation, and Pre-Trial Practice.
As part of his business practice, Mr. Houchin has specialized in small business formation, management and regulations, with a specific focus on assisting commercial clients in navigating the new Medical Marijuana industry. He has worked with numerous clients to successfully obtain their commercial licenses from the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority and serves as corporate counsel for many businesses to help them to stay current with the rapidly changing rules in this fledgling industry.
Mr. Houchin earned a Bachelor of Arts and Masters of Education from the University of Oklahoma. He started his career as a family therapist. He subsequently earned his J.D. from Cornell University Law School and is an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.
